SettleMint and Agoria Join Forces for DigitalWallonia4Trust Program

SettleMint, the Blockchain Transformation Company, and Agoria, the Belgian technology federation representing companies in the technology industry, are pleased to announce their collaboration for the development and launch of the first phase of the TestNet, an integral component within the DigitalWallonia4.Trust program.

The program’s primary objective is to demystify blockchain technology and showcase its advantages for potential users, especially small and medium-sized enterprises that may approach new technologies cautiously. The TestNet will provide those interested with the opportunity to explore a blockchain environment that is not integrated with any live commercial systems. This sandbox environment empowers companies to experiment with and understand how the technology functions and conduct proof-of-concept experiments.

The partnership between SettleMint and Agoria is focused on the successful launch of the TestNet. SettleMint, the Blockchain Transformation Company that connects the dots between people, processes and technology to accelerate value creation with blockchain, will curate and deploy four distinct environments tailored to resonate with diverse industries. The four chosen environments are NFT ticketing, ESG reporting, agrifood supply chain, and document notarization. The final product will be a user-friendly website where individuals can select their preferred environment and engage in real-time experimentation.

Expressing his enthusiasm about this collaboration, Matthew Van Niekerk, CEO, and Co-Founder of SettleMint, remarked, “I am honored that SettleMint, a Belgian company, gets to work on this project where the aim is to increase awareness amongst Wallonian enterprises on blockchain’s transformative potential within their domains. SettleMint is collaborating with its partners Block0, Multitel, and BeBlockchain, leveraging the expertise of blockchain specialists across Belgium, three renowned companies in the Walloon region.

Agoria, renowned for promoting innovation and digital transformation in Belgium, assumes project management responsibilities. The organization plans to kickstart training and engagement initiatives with enterprises in early September. The companies involved have a strong desire for long-term collaboration with the DigitalWallonia4.Trust program, aiming to extend opportunities for more companies to participate and leverage various incentives.

DigitalWallonia4.Trust is an innovative project led by Agoria, Infopole, l’Agence du Numérique, and WalChain. Supported by the Public Service of Wallonia, Economy, Employment and Research (SPW EER) as well as by Wallonia, this initiative is part of the Digital Excellence program of Wallonia’s digital strategy, Digital Wallonia.
